pv magazine test is moving into a new phase in 2025. In this edition we present the final set of monthly results from the outdoor installation in Xi’an, China. This comes ahead of a comprehensive revamp of the pv magazine test program, with new partners on board, which we are excited to unveil in full in next month’s edition.
After monitoring at the Xi’an test field reached its end, we present insights into the changes in performance of the various samples. The charts below show a grouping of products according to the rank they achieved each quarter. Only products that completed a full quarter are included. The distance between ranks is in steps of 1.5%. Products in the same rank are considered to have had the same performance due to measurement uncertainty.
Except for those modules that experienced problems during operation and saw their rank drop steeply, most products performed stably throughout the year. Meanwhile, many older samples performed relatively better during the winter months, resulting in their ranking rising in Q1 and Q4.
